Easy guide to using Crystal Grids for your Home & the best crystals to choose

Crystal Grids can be an incredibly powerful tool to protect your home, help increase peace & harmony and create a sacred space of high vibration within your house.

What are Crystal Grids?

A crystal grid is basically just what it sounds like, you are creating a grid of crystals to manifest or create a desired intention or result.  The magic and power of the grid comes from the energies of the crystals combining & working together, along with the way you place them and the intentions you set when placing them.

Why should I grid my home?

Gridding homes with crystals is becoming more and more common.  People grid their homes for many different reasons, such as spiritual protection, increasing peace and harmony in the home, creating a sacred space and keeping the vibration in their home at a high resonance etc.

With everything going on in the world at the moment, it has never been more important to ensure that your personal space is resonating at the highest energy possible.  Your home is your safe space, your place to relax, recharge, be with loved ones, work on your goals, be your true authentic self - it really is a sacred space and it is important to treat it as such.

There are so many possibilities for creating a crystal grid - this is the beauty of the practice, you can really go with your intuition and what feels right for you.  Similarly, you can grid individual rooms, or the entire house either from the outside or inside - just whatever calls to you.  You choose the intention for the space. 

Crystal gridding can be done on any space.  The practice is about setting the intention that is important for you and those you live with.  Below, I show how I like to grid my own house.

Prepare your Crystals

It's important to prepare your crystals before placing them in the grid. Some of my favourite ways to prepare my crystals include:

• Using a sage smudge stick to cleanse and clear while saying "Cleanse, clear, delete, return to Source". 
• Placing your crystals in a large amethyst or quartz geode to cleanse and charge again with intention "Cleanse, clear delete, return to Source".
• Placing your crystals in the moonlight with intention will also cleanse and charge your crystals. 
• Or, Selenite charging plates do a great job of charging your crystals too.  I like to charge my crystals by saying to them "I recognise you as a Divine Being of Love and Light and I know that you are always connected to Source energy and always charged with Source energy".  

Creating your Grid

To grid a room in your home, first ensure the space is clean and tidy. Then you can place a cleansed and programmed crystal into each corner of the room that you would like to grid. For example:

Outside your house:

If you are using very small crystals it is possible to place them on top of skirting boards (depending on width and shape of skirting boards) instead of the floor.

Personally, I prefer to use bigger rough chunks of crystal or larger pieces in corners of a room as it saves them from being hoovered up with the exception of gridding my bed.

When I am gridding my bed I prefer to pop tumble stones under my mattress at each corner of the bed instead of on the floor as again, this prevents them from being hoovered up. 

You can place a crystal at each corner of your home on the outside perimeter if you would like to grid your whole home.  Use a hard crystal for this purpose so that it does not disintegrate in the rain and outdoor conditions. 

You can use multiple grids at the same time.  For example, you might have a grid around the outside of your home which is set up with the intention of creating peace & high energy in your house and protect all who live in the space etc., whilst also additionally having grids set up around each of your beds, or around your office space etc. to set the intention for those specific spaces.

You can use different types of crystals for setting different intentions around the home.  

Which Crystals should you use?

There are lots of fantastic crystals to use when gridding, here are some of my favourites:

Amethyst:

Amethyst is a great stone to use for gridding. Amethyst invokes peace and calm and is useful for transmuting negativity.  It increases intuition, clairvoyance and connection to Divine energy.  It works on the violet ray and I love to use Amethyst while working with the violet flame to transmute negative vibrations into higher frequencies. 

Amethyst has so many uses. Here are some of the ways I use Amethyst for cyrstal grid work: 

• I like to grid the corners of my therapy room and meditation room with amethyst, but you could use amethyst to grid any room or space.  
• Although this next suggestion is for gridding the physical body rather than the home I think it’s a beneficial one to mention. By placing amethyst crystals in a circle around you and holding the intention that the amethyst crystals radiate violet purple light from them and form a bubble of soothing, peaceful light around you while you sit quietly and focus on your breath. This will cleanse and clear your aura of any lower vibrations dissipating them leaving you feeling relaxed and calm. you can also use this technique with a loved one to help them to de-stress.
• Place a cluster of Amethyst, amethyst plate or amethyst geode by your front door to invite in calm, peace, wealth and Divine light.  It’s violet purple light transmutes any lower vibrations from those entering your home as they come in the door and helps keep your home clear and calm and helps to reduce electromagnetic smog. 

Black Tourmaline

Black Tourmaline is useful for gridding a room or bed in a bedroom that you feel would benefit from some protection.  Black Tourmaline acts as a shield from lower astral entities and negativity. 

Black Tourmaline is a great choice for those who are facing difficult situations or challenging relationships at home or at work, or where there may be unwanted supernatural activity etc.

Rutilated Quartz

I use Rutilated Quartz to grid the outside of my home as its vibration attracts more joy and unity and has a cleansing and purifying effect.  I also love the idea that I have angelic energy protecting every corner of my home from the outside. 

Rose Quartz

You can grid your room or bed with rose quartz crystals to increase love, compassion, peace and calm. 

Rose quartz can enhance and increase loving connections and loving relationships with yourself and others in your home.   It invites delightful dreams and restful sleep. 

I love Rose quartz in the home.  Large chunks or bigger pieces are wonderful to have on display around the home as they look pretty and radiate positive vibes too!

Selenite

I love large pieces of selenite as they have multi uses.  You can use Selenite as a charging plate to charge other crystals when placed on top of the selenite. 

Or, simply place a large chunk of Selenite under your bed or grid a bed with smaller pieces or tumble stones as selenite radiates calm, peace and tranquillity. 

Using selenite can create a safe and protected space to spend time in. I also love to use selenite tumble stones to surround grids that I have set up. This acts to block out any unwanted energy from interfering with your grid.

Celestite

Place one piece of Celestite in each corner of the windowsill of a room to invite angelic energy into the home.  Celestite radiates a gentle, calming, nurturing and loving, yet uplifting energy and can enhance loving communication between those in the room. 

These are just a few ideas of the ideas of what crystals you can use for gridding and where to place them- really the possibilities are endless and I would encourage you to experiment with trying gridding and use your intuition as to what will work best for your space & intentions.
